Craft and form

This ring from the Sirius collection is handcrafted in 14-karat yellow gold. The design revolves around a faceted Tahiti pearl measuring 9.7 mm. Due to the special cut, the light refracts itself into small areas, revealing new hues with every movement: deep gray, anthracite and a subtle green glow. Six diamonds in warm shades of brown (1.7 mm, 0.02 ct each) surround the pearl. They add a soft sparkle without distracting attention from the focal point. The matte finish and granules on the ring binder bring balance and tranquility to the whole.

The depth and character of the pearl

A faceted pearl does not compare to a classic, smooth pearl. Light moves through the facets, revealing different colors each time. This Tahiti pearl seems to be alive; its surface constantly shows a new glow, as if depth lurks behind the pearl. That effect immediately gave me a sense of the universe: light showing itself in shadow and movement emerging in stillness. I wanted to capture exactly that interplay of light and darkness in this design.

The meaning of Sirius

The name Sirius refers to the brightest star in our sky, part of the constellation Canis Major, also known as the Great Dog. In ancient cultures, this star symbolised brightness, direction and return. While visiting the observatory in Lochem, I heard this story, and it touched me. One star, one source of light – exactly what I was looking for in my rings. That is why this collection was named Sirius.

Timeless elegance

The ring has a warm, calm look and a natural balance of shine and texture. The granules on the ring band highlight the craft used to make each piece – characteristic of the Sirius collection. Each piece of jewellery is made entirely by hand in the Beltrum workshop, with attention to durability and a quality that will last for generations. The name Penumbra refers to the half-light between dark and bright: the area where light does not show itself immediately, but becomes visible again and again.

Tahiti pearls are among the most extraordinary pearls in the world. They originate in the black-lipped oyster, which lives in the lagoons of French Polynesia. Their color palette – from silver to blues and greens – is created entirely by nature. No two Tahitian pearls are ever the same; color, luster and texture make each ring unique.

This ring has been sold, but can be remade to order. Because Tahiti pearls are natural products, they always vary in color, luster and texture. This makes each version a personalized piece of jewelry with its own look.

The ring is formed from round wire with a thickness of 2 mm, providing a comfortable fit that wears comfortably all day long. As with all Elevance rings, the finish can be chosen as desired: matted, hammered or highly polished.

Because each ring is handcrafted, the price depends in part on the ring size and the pearl chosen. A larger size contains more gold, and the hue and lustre of the pearl can affect the price.

Craft and form

This ring from the Sirius collection is handcrafted in 14-karat yellow gold and built around a 9-mm cabochon-cut green tourmaline. On either side shine two diamonds, each measuring 2.95 mm (0.10 ct each, colour F/G, quality VSI). The soft sparkle of tourmaline and the refined brilliance of diamond subtly enhance each other. This creates a classic ensemble with a contemporary Kobak signature.

The depth and character of the stone

The green tourmaline is a cabochon cut, revealing its inner world beautifully. If you look closely, you can see slight inclusions – natural structures created during the stone’s growth process. They do not form imperfections, but unique patterns that give the stone its own identity.

In this tourmaline, the inclusions almost seem to move in the light. They create a depth reminiscent of a small galaxy in green. As a result, the stone seems alive; each turn of the hand reveals a different facet of what nature has shaped over millions of years.

The beauty from within

Sometimes beauty lies within – and that’s precisely the idea behind this pendant from the Inside Out collection. The pendant features an Edison pearl with an exceptional lustre in shades of green, old rose and gold. The soft gradients and rounded shape give the pearl a warm, natural look. The hanging eye is in keeping with the distinctive Inside Out style: subtle, sophisticated and with attention to detail.

A fresh look at familiar elements

Within the Inside Out collection, I innovatively incorporate my signature granules: not on the outside, but rather on the inside of the design. This symbolises my search for renewal – a fresh look at familiar elements. The result is a design that combines sophistication, contrast and depth in one subtle form.

About the pearl

Edison pearls are known for their striking lustre and rich hues. They are grown in freshwater mussels and are distinguished by their exceptional depth and metallic sheen. Each pearl is unique in colour, shape and play of light. The soft tones in this pearl – green, old rose and gold – give the pendant a warm, almost iridescent look.

Although this pendant has since been sold, a similar design can be made with a different, carefully selected (Edison) pearl on commission.

Zircon is a gemstone with a rich history and unique brilliance. Unlike synthetic zirconia, a commonly used diamond imitation, zirconia is a purely natural product. Some crystals are nearly 4.5 billion years old. This makes zircon one of the oldest minerals on earth. The stone is known for its strong double refraction. Incoming light splits into two rays, creating an almost unreal brilliance. With a hardness of 6.5 to 7.5 on the Mohs scale, the necklace is suitable for everyday use.

This necklace will add something special to your jewelry collection. The warm, natural luster of zirconia and the subtle sparkle of the diamonds give it a stylish and timeless look. The necklace is perfect for an elegant evening look, but also goes with an everyday outfit.
