Schoonheid zit soms in wat niet direct zichtbaar is. Deze Inside Out hanger laat dat op een subtiele manier zien. De hanger is voorzien van een licht paarse zoetwaterparel in een baroque vorm, met zachte ondertonen van goud, groen en roze. Door haar grilligere vorm heeft de parel een levendig karakter en laat zij zich telkens anders zien. Wanneer de hanger gedragen wordt, beweegt zij mee met de draagster en zwaait de parel rustig zo’n 180 graden heen en weer. Zo vangt zij het licht vanuit verschillende hoeken en komen de vele kleurnuances prachtig tot hun recht.

Het ronde ophangoog sluit naadloos aan bij de Inside Out stijl: verfijnd, in balans en met aandacht voor detail. De beweging is geen toevoeging, maar een essentieel onderdeel van het ontwerp.

Deze hanger is ontworpen om gedragen te worden. Door het meebewegen ontstaat steeds een ander spel van licht en kleur, waardoor de parel nooit hetzelfde oogt. Dat maakt deze Inside Out hanger persoonlijk en levendig – een sieraad dat zich vormt naar degene die het draagt.

This necklace is made of smooth tourmaline gemstones measuring 3 mm, carefully selected for their color and quality. The shades blend beautifully: pinks, greens, blues and warm yellow-green nuances combine to form a vibrant and elegant whole. The length is 47 cm, including the handmade clasp made of 14 ct yellow gold.

The tourmaline gemstones are set on steel wire. As a result, the necklace maintains a nice round shape on the neck and wears comfortably. Tourmaline is known for its rich color palette and soft luster. The natural transparency allows light to play subtly through the colors, giving this necklace its sophisticated look.

This elegant necklace consists of a string of 2 mm black spinel gemstones. They are finely faceted, making them sparkle beautifully. The gemstones are set on steel wire. As a result, the necklace falls in a nice round shape around the neck and wears comfortably. The total length is 45 cm, including the handmade capstone clasp made of solid 14ct yellow gold.

Black spinel has a distinctive sparkle. This is due to the high refractive index of this gemstone. The light bounces back in a vivid way in its many facets, creating an elegant and sparkling look.

At the bottom of the gold pendant is a subtle, special detail: a light brown 1.75 mm diamond, double set, which elegantly merges with the warm tone of the gold.

In the right light, the diamond shows itself with a gentle sparkle – never flashy, but rather understated and refined. This creates a subtle balance between brilliance and tranquility. With its overall length of 36 mm, this pendant is a statement in form, but with a natural softness in appearance.

These handcrafted 14kt yellow gold earrings from the Inside Out collection combine sophistication with a subtle sense of humour. The combination of grey Tahitian pearls and speckled quartz pawls creates a striking and playful contrast.

The design is delicate and balanced. The pearls shine with a soft metallic glow, while the slightly translucent quartz adds a natural softness. Due to their length and movement—totalling 7.5 cm—the earrings fall gracefully along the face, striking just the right balance between elegance and expression.

The inspiration behind the design

While making it, the quartz reminded me of tiny quail eggs. That light, speckled pattern gave the design an unexpectedly playful touch. It is just these kinds of chance discoveries that make working with natural materials so inspiring. Each pair is created step by step, with attention to form, colour and movement.

The Inside Out collection is all about innovation and growth. By combining familiar materials differently, a new harmony is created between shine and structure, tranquillity and playfulness. These earrings are a bright example of that: classic in form, but with an unexpected twist.

About the materials

Tahiti pearls are among the most extraordinary pearls in the world. They are formed by the black lip oyster and are known for their natural grey to silver glow. Each pearl is unique in hue and brilliance, giving them an almost mystical appearance.

The pamphlets of quartz – carefully cut and polished – have a subtle, natural speckling reminiscent of quail eggs. No two pieces are identical, giving each pair of earrings its own character and nuance. Together, they provide an airy counterpoint to the rich lustre of the gold and pearls.

Timeless and versatile

These earrings are designed to be worn. They move smoothly and match both a classic evening gown and a simple white shirt. It is precisely this versatility that makes them timeless.

Made for the Inside Out collection, this handmade pendant in 14kt yellow gold is set with an exceptional bi-colored tourmaline measuring 8 × 6 mm. The gemstone subtly transitions from dark grey to pink, revealing a new nuance with every movement. That soft colour gradient gives the pendant an understated yet striking look – sophisticated, modern and full of character.

Renewal from within

The Inside Out collection is the result of my search for innovation: a new way to incorporate my signature granules and place familiar elements in a different context. Each design in this series is an exercise in growth – technical, aesthetic and personal. They are jewellery that find their strength in simplicity, balance and craft.

Royal—that was the most common reaction when I first showed these earrings. And rightly so: everything about this design exudes power, elegance and sophistication.

The Royalty earrings were designed exclusively for the Inside Out collection – a line in which I explore new avenues within my craft. This collection is about renewal and growth: about daring to let go of fixed forms as well as finding balance between contrasts. This creates a collection that feels both classic and contemporary.

Play of light and depth

In this design, different elements come together to form a harmonious whole. The soft lustre of Edison pearls, the deep pink of rhodolite garnet, the depth of onyx and the subtle sparkle of thirty-six carefully set diamonds combine to create an exciting contrast. This creates a captivating interplay of light and dark, of softness and strength.

When I completed this pair, I was silent for a moment. The light playing over the pearls, the depth of the stones and the way the earrings move with the wearer – everything is correct. As a result, they not only feel royal, but wear like it.

About the gemstones

Edison pearls are known for their exceptional lustre and full shape. They are cultured in freshwater mussels, developing a warm, creamy sheen that almost seems to give off light. Rhodolite garnet, with its raspberry red hue, symbolises passion and life force. The onyx adds tranquillity and, in this design, has a special processing: the stone is hand-cut and matted, giving it depth and texture. Diamonds – timeless and pure – then provide balance and sparkle.

The meaning of Inside Out

The Inside Out collection marks a new chapter in my work. I was looking for techniques to process my signature granules differently and create more layering. This created a collection where each piece of jewellery not only displays beauty but also becomes tangible. What grows from within thus takes shape in gold.

Only one pair of the Royalty earrings exists. Handmade, exclusive and meant for those moments that really matter.
