About Sarah Kobak – colour, craft and a signature of her own<\/h1>\n

Since childhood, I have been fascinated by gemstones. That love led me to study goldsmithing at ROC Zadkine in Schoonhoven and then to the University for the Creative Arts in Rochester, UK, where I specialised in jewellery design.<\/p>\n

In 2007, I opened my own studio in Zaandam. During that period, step by step, my own handwriting emerged: a classical base, colour as the starting point and granules as refined craft detail – elements that still form the heart of my work.<\/p>\n

Working from the Achterhoek<\/h2>\n

In 2021, I moved with my family to the Achterhoek. The peace and space I found here fit well with my way of working: attentive, precise and with an eye for detail.<\/p>\n

From my studio, I design and make jewellery in gold and silver, combined with natural gemstones and pearls that I carefully select for colour, character and appearance. Not trends, but timelessness and the pleasure of wearing are the starting point.<\/p>\n

My style: classic, colorful and recognizable<\/h2>\n

My work has an elegant, classical base in which colour plays an important role. Natural gemstones bring vibrancy and add individuality to each design. You can read more about the materials I work with on the gemstones and pearls page.<\/a><\/p>\n

A recognisable part of my work are granules: small gold balls applied by hand. Not in tight patterns, but in a way that provides balance, refinement and a subtle play of texture.<\/p>\n

The story behind the granules<\/h2>\n

My love for granules arose around 2010 during an exhibition on Etruscan gold in Drenthe. The precision of this ancient technique continued to fascinate me.<\/p>\n

I immersed myself in making and applying granules for over a year and a half, gradually developing my own way of working. They have since become a recognisable part of my designs and give my jewellery its own signature. Would you like to read more about this technique and my way of working? Craft and attention<\/h2>\n

From initial idea to finished jewellery, each design is created with attention to material, shape and comfort. Personal contact with customers is important to me in this regard. Together, we look at desires, possibilities, and materials to create a piece of jewellery that fits your story.<\/p>\n
