Terms and Conditions Course and Use Studio Space of Sarah Kobak – 2025/2026

1. Login

1.1 By registering or applying, you agree to the terms and conditions below.
1.2 Only fully completed and confirmed applications via the website will be accepted.
1.3 There is a maximum of 6 students per group.
1.4 If a course is full, you may be placed on the waiting list if you wish.
1.5 Participants must be 18 years of age or older.
1.6 Participation in the course is personal and non-transferable.

2. Validity of registration

2.1 After your registration and payment through the website, you will receive an email confirmation from Sarah Kobak. This makes your registration final.
2.2 Courses are offered in blocks of 10 lessons. Registration applies per block and entitles you to 10 lessons within the specified period. Re-registration is required for each new block.
2.3 The prices quoted are for the 2025 course year. These are reviewed annually on January 1 and adjusted as needed. Participating students will be informed in December.
2.4 Courses take place at Sarah Kobak’s studio at the following address:
Meester Nelissenstraat 33, 7156 MB Beltrum
Parking is free in the Mariaplein across from the studio.

3. Right of withdrawal and cancellations

3.1 Right of Withdrawal: You have the right to cancel your registration up to 14 days after registration without giving reasons. You will then receive a full refund, provided the first lesson has not yet taken place at that time. To exercise this right, please contact us in writing or by e-mail.
3.2 Cancellation before the course start (outside the reflection period): If cancelled up to 14 days before the start of the block, you will receive a 50% refund. Cancellations within 14 days prior to the start date are not eligible for refunds.
3.3 Cancellation after the start of the block: Refunds are not possible. Missed classes are non-refundable and cannot be carried over to the next block.

4. Early termination and interruption

4.1 Students commit for the full duration of the chosen block. In case of early termination or interruption, the payment obligation remains.
4.2 If Sarah Kobak is unable to teach a class, an alternative class date will be offered or a substitute teacher will be arranged.
4.3 One catch-up opportunity will be offered per block on a fixed Saturday morning:

  • For Block 3 (September – November 2025): Saturday, November 29, 2025, 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.
  • For Block 1 (January-March 2026): Saturday, March 28, 2026, 10 a.m.-12 p.m.
  • For Block 2 (May-July 2025): Saturday, July 19, 2025, 10 a.m.-12 p.m.

Missed classes outside of this catch-up opportunity will not be made up or settled.

5. Tools and materials

5.1 All basic tools are available in the workshop. A brass plate is ready for new students for the starting assignment.
5.2 Silver, gold and other materials for follow-ups are at the student’s own expense. The cost depends on design and choice of materials. Sarah Kobak advises on this and can refer to reliable suppliers if required.

6. Liability

6.1 Participation in the course is entirely at your own risk. Great attention is paid to safety, but Sarah Kobak is not liable for damage, injury or loss during classes, nor for consequential damages such as sick leave or medical expenses.
6.2 Damage caused by careless use of tools, workbenches or the workroom may be recovered from the participant. It is recommended to have third-party insurance.

7. Safety

7.1 Safety is a shared responsibility. Be considerate of yourself as well as others.
7.2 When using power tools, wearing safety glasses is mandatory.
Wear closed shoes, an apron or coat, and tie long hair together. Avoid loose clothing or jewellery during class.

8. Complaint procedure and disputes

8.1 For disputes that cannot be mutually resolved, you may submit a complaint to the Mediation Office of the Federation of Gold and Silver.
8.2 If mediation does not provide a solution, the dispute may be submitted to the Jewelry and Timepieces Disputes Committee. The ruling of this is binding on both parties. Cost is €77.50. If the complaint is justified, these fees will be refunded.
8.3 All agreements shall be governed by Dutch law.

9. Other provisions

9.1 Sarah Kobak reserves the right to modify these terms and conditions. Any adjustments will be communicated in a timely manner.
9.2 By registering for a course, you agree to these terms and conditions.
9.3 Photographs of work pieces or of the studio may be taken during classes. These images may be used for promotional purposes, such as on social media or the website. Of course, this always takes into account the privacy of students. If you object to this, please indicate this in advance.
