Sirius – 14 ct yellow gold ring with green-yellow tourmaline

Craft and form

This ring from the Sirius collection is completely handcrafted in 14 karat yellow gold. At the centre is a 6-mm round-cut tourmaline in a greenish-yellow hue. The ring has a width of 5 mm, a thickness of 1.2 mm and a ring size 18.

The combination of a subtly worked texture and a polished finish creates a beautiful play of light, showing off the colour of the tourmaline. The granules along the setting add detail to the design and are a recognisable part of my work.

Colour and character of the tourmaline

This tourmaline has a fresh, bright appearance due to its green-and-yellow hue. Colours often associated with renewal and energy. Because of its round cut, the gemstone captures light from all sides, creating a vibrant sparkle without being unsettling.

The meaning of Sirius

The name Sirius came about after a visit to the observatory in Lochem, the Netherlands. Sirius is the brightest star in the sky and, in ancient cultures, was a symbol of brightness and direction. That idea is the basis of this collection: one gemstone that carries the design.

The Sirius collection consists of powerful, recognisable rings that balance form, material and gemstone.

Timeless and personal

Each ring is handmade in my atelier in Beltrum. The combination of gold, gemstones, and granules creates a signature reflected in each piece. A ring that stands out for its simplicity and detail, and is easy to wear.
